Actually it's oil experts that say it would take that long to bring
enough oil to market to make a difference in price. Even then, there
isn't that much oil, and one has to wonder if investing billions in
something that will only increase oil access a few years makes sense.

years, and we are still getting 300 Million barrels of oil a year from it,

What a irrational reply. You're saying, it seems that Alaska has more
oil than they thought? I'm not sure about that -- you need to
substantiate your claim. However, you can't just assume there is a
lot of oil when oil geologists don't think there is; nor can you
assume speed in getting it to market.
In any event, I'm looking at what oil geologists say, many of them are
conservative (including one I know personally who is very concerned
and thinks its impossible to drill our way out of this mess). Your
weird way of seeing everything has "liberals bad conservatives good,"
is rather irrational thinking. It's like Animal Farm "Two legs bad,
four legs good."
